Project write-up
Getting dredge plant to site is half the project. At Golf Estate off Peter Odili Road, Port Harcourt, it starts on the road: Mack trucks hauling a blue hull section in convoy, a crawler crane staging components at the laydown yard, a full red cutter ladder loaded onto a lowbed.
Then comes the water phase — dredges on station, discharge pipeline run ashore, a full crew in coveralls and hard hats working the line. Mobilisation through to crewed production, in one documented arc, led by Martins Otuya.
Scope of work
- Overland transport of hull sections and ladder by lowbed convoy
- Crane loadout and staging at the laydown yard
- Dredge launch, positioning and pipeline connection
- Crewed discharge pipeline operations with full site team
Outcomes & impact
- Complete plant delivered from yard to water
- Large local crew engaged across pipeline and deck operations
- End to end mobilisation to production record for training use
