Assembling and Installing a 20-Inch Ellicott Dredge in Lagos
In August 2015, DEW Engineering Works and IDSS assembled and installed a 20-inch Ellicott dredge in Lagos, led by Sunday Azubuike Otuya and Martins Otuya. The job drew on the team's dredge assembly skills, from fitting the hull and machinery together through to bringing the plant into service. The dredge is now available for lease.

The 20-inch Ellicott was brought together on site in Lagos and taken through to a working dredge. The assembly drew on the core skills of the trade: fitting and aligning the hull and machinery, connecting the pipework, and commissioning the plant so it was ready to run. The work was led by Sunday Azubuike Otuya and Martins Otuya, building on the same kind of assembly experience the team had gained at the Naval Dockyard in 2008.
The dredge is now available for lease. Clients who need dredging capacity without buying their own plant can contact IDSS to discuss terms.
